Ciak, si mangia!
Not exactly what I want to see when I order a pizza:
The grinning madman on the left really frightens me.
And no one has ever sufficiently explained "Ciak" to me:
The old delivery boxes from our favorite pizzeria had pictures of Totò on them. Sigh.

how weird! Tom Cruise, George Clooney, and Brad Pitt? Serving pizza. Yep, not sure of that either.
I asked the same thing about 'Ciak' b/c there are a couple cafes with this name in Monterosso. Finally my professor in Florence explained (as did some people on my blog a year or so ago)...that it is the for onomatopoeia for the sound a directors clip board makes when we say "ACTION!". Like, "let's get started". Even our teacher would say that with the hand motions when our lesson began.
No idea why it's associated with food places though.
Who is the man on the left supposed to be? I can recognize only Brad Pitt, but the other...

Yes, it's Tom Cruise, George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Tom Cruise scares me. I'm not sure what they have to do with pizza! I wouldn't mind seeing more pizzaioli that look like Clooney, though!
Erin, that makes sense! It does sound a bit like "ciak." I don't get the connection with food either.
I know ciak to mean "action". Not sure what it's got to do with pizza though.
Put me right off pizza, it would.
That is the funniest and creepiest pizza box I have ever seen in my life!!
OMG that is hilarious and quite frightening at the very same time! Even better than my last pizza box in Rome. Those crazy Italians! What will they come up with next??
The only thing I can think of is that it'd be like "Let's get eating/Action!"
And Clooney is very, very Simian in that portrayal. Me no likey.
The whole expression is "Ciak! Si gira," right? So it's like "Lights, Camera, Eat!" - which would be a terrible name for a restaurant, and I expect to see them opening in food courts across the USA any day now...
